Why Didn't Americans Adopt the Metric System?

I'm talking with a friend Australia and I'm learning the natural temperatures in Celsius globally. In Oz as they call it down under Santa Clause comes in the heat of summer when it's warm and cozy. I probably was in my thirties when I finally learned this.
The above map shows clearly in gray which parts of the world use the metric system. Red naturally does not. We're clearly outnumbered.

A lot of web sites have conversion, charts, tools and explanations but I'll include this one as it seems simplified enough to understand converting Celsius to Fahrenheit at 'Conversion of Temperature.'

I deeper research on the topic in question I found the official site of the U.S Metric Association (USMA). A majority of the information on this site are on links near the bottom of this home page as well.

In the end....

Body Painting

Art has so many different forms. Photos of body painting have been showing up online though more frequently and today there are festivals all over the world for artists to show their colorful, skin tingling talents. For some people its their only piece of wear attire as the paint alone is all that covers the body.

Henna Art
I've always had a fascination with henna art. In the past I've actually put it on my hair for conditioning and color purposes. It's thick and gooey. How does an artist accomplish this type of beauty with thin little lines? Body tinting like this can last up to a few weeks.

Body PaintingThis notable body painting is by an artist named Nadia Brito. I'm sure the guys are thinking, my what nice glowing yellow eyes this model has...

Demi Moore

This one has always been one of my favorites mainly because of the detail and it was in Vanity Fair many years ago or on the cover. I have this issue somewhere. Anyone wanna play guess the actress? Just post your answer in the comments section.

Tatoo Sexy Chest

Curvy, shapely and nicely sculpted. It seems the tattoos on this one just seem to add to the beauty that is...

Michael Scofield
Will somebody please explain to me how the above map works on actor Michael Scofield (Prison Break)?

Facebook

I like to file Facebook under:
  1. Time waster or
  2. There's absolutely nothing else to do on the internet.
Applications or Apps:

There are a lot more applications on this site that you can add to your page and share with friends if they choose to download the app to their home page as well. All these apps are filed neatly on the left side of your page. Once I was new to the site and getting email requests to join my friends in their shenanigans on the site I soon had nearly over 40 some apps to my page, not knowing what half of them did. I think I've since dwindled it down to around 22 and still question what a few actually accomplish.

One app allows me to give my friends cute, virtual hugs and is aptly named 'Hug Me' and contains cute Japanese Anime characters in various expressions and colors mainly consisting of beige, white, pink and red.

Another favorite is 'Battle Hangman,' to which you can play on your own with the apps computer or if you're lucky enough to get your friends to download the application as well you can challenge them with your topics and words to hang themselves with.

If bored you can simply 'Super Poke' someone too to get their attention and as well they can poke you back with a virtual action. Some of these actions include; bake a cake for, moon, join parade with, oh snap, smile at and the list goes on. In fact the more you poke your friends the more free apps you get to poke them with. Although the cute characters that show up on their pages cannot be seen in the action box it's still worthy enough to mention here.

You can also join a Network for any region of the world and be found by others in that location. I did join a few but for now prefer to remain anonymous and undiscovered.

In all, Facebook is cute, fun and just as easy to turn off after a few minutes of play time as well.

Phone Stuff

I was sorting through my bookmarks in firefox and noticed I had a few phone links saved and wanted to past them here so I don't loose them again.
  • Text 4 Free
  • - I love this one because you can text anyone online pretty much all over the world and not even pick up a phone to do so.
  • International Dialing Codes
  • - this is an oldie I saved a few years back. It seems I never use it unless a friend from the UK wants to ring me and we need to figure out the prefix for international dialing once again.
  • National Do Not Call Registry
  • - I think my Aunt sent me this link recently. In having a new phone number and computer both link and registry has been lost in my own personal RAM.

Vertu's Signature Cobra

While I was trying to find some of my phone links I came across Vertu's Signature Cobra. I love the color purple and snakes. It sells for a whopping $310,000 and is adorned with diamonds and 439 rubies. Nice isn't it. If you own one of these please comment on this post!
